Pigs in Blankets of Doom

Introduction: Pigs in Blankets of Doom

Super-sized pigs in blankets, suitable for a man sized breakfasts. I'm sure other people have done the exact same thing, but one morning the DoomMeister had failed to get any bread and couldn’t face going to the shop with out first consuming some meat thus the Pigs in blankets of Doom where born.

Step 1: You Will Need

You will need

Tortillas
Sausages, preferably good ones.
Bacon, dry cured is best.

At this point the rules of breakfast come into play to quote.

“And lo if Bacon is to be eaten to the exclusion of other meats then Ketchup is fine, but if thou should eat of other breakfast meats Brown Sauce shall be used in preference of all others.”

Brown Sauce. Just make sure its not HP Sauce though, you don't want PIBD to taste like ashes in your mouth do you.

Step 2: Cook the Meat

Cook up your sausages and bacon as usual , this should take around 15min for the sausages and 5min for the bacon. It is very unlikely that you will need any additional fat.

When cooking the bacon try and make sure it stays as flat as possible in the pan, use the back of your spatula to aid this process.

Step 3: Prepare the Tortillas

During the last couple of minutes while you are cooking the meat, place the tortillas under the grill and warm them through. Remove the Tortilla to a plate and add Brown Sauce to your taste.

Step 4: Assemble

Place the cooked bacon on the tortilla towards one edge. The sausages should be placed on top of the bacon in the middle of the tortilla.

Fold the sides of the tortilla in like a burrito, this should help you keep some of the sauce from spilling all down your shirt when you eat it.

Carefully roll the tortilla and bacon into a tube containing the sausage in the centre. If the Pig does not want to stay in its blanket then secure with a cocktail stick.

Step 5: Enjoy

Now you have made Pigs in blankets of doom, it would be best that you eat them.

I am sure there are many other variations that could be made, relish, chutney and cheese spring to mind as suitable additions.

You make a very good point, Sir!

I live not too far from Birmingham in a village called Polesworth.
My Grandad worked in the Gun-quarters of birmingham for the last 50+ years of his life and so drove past the old factory nearly every day.

I must say though, i would've loved to have that amazing HP Sauce Sign that so many people would have glanced at as they were stuck in heavy traffic on that bypass :D

you might know brown sauce as steak sauce.

HP is/was the biggest brand of brown sauce, their factory was a landmark in my city until Heinz bought the brand and moved production to the Netherlands.
