Intro: Bacon Wrapped Sausages (Pigs in Blankets)

Decided to make pigs in blankets as the shop didn't have any premade which was really annoying.

I know these are simple but I thought I would do an instructable on them anyway.

You will need

Sausages, I used cocktail Sausages but you could use full size sausages

Smoked Streaky Bacon

Baking tray

Sharp Knife

Chopping Board

Oven

Bread, for making the bacon sandwich with the left over bacon mmmmmm everything's better with bacon

STEP 1: Prep and Chop the Bacon

ok you need to preheat your over to 200 degree C

Cut the bacon in half down the length, if you're using normal sized sausages then skip this part

Cut each piece in half

STEP 2: Wrap and Cook

Spray a baking sheet with cooking oil, or just wipe some round it

Roll your sausage with a piece of bacon put on your oiled tray and repeat until all of your sausages have been wrapped

place in the middle of your oven for between 25 to 30 minutes

STEP 3: Done, Sandwich Time!

when you take the out of the oven when the sausages go brown, should be about 25 to 30 minutes, leave to cool for a few minutes

I normally have these with xmas dinner, turkey, I guess you guys in the US would have this for thanks giving.

then make a bacon sandwich with the remaining bacon :-)

everythings better with bacon
your bacon looks a lot meatier than what we get over here...
Bacon is often perceived as unhealthy, and many people think fat is just "filler", so these days a lot of producers minimise fat in the cut. I prefer streaky to be ~50/50.
