Introduction: Planet Earth Throw Pillow
What cooler way to see our Earth than in a squishy pillow? Makes a great decoration or gift.
You will need:
-Blue, green, and white (or other color for the back) fabric
-Green and white thread
-Stuffing
-Scissors
-Something to write on the fabric with (I am using a purple fabric marker)
-Needle
-Sewing machine (Optional if you want to hand sew the project)
-Pins
-Something round the size you want your pillow to trace (I used a basket)
-An iron (If your fabric is wrinkled)
Step 1: Cut the Fabric
Use your round object (in my case this old basket) to trace a circle onto each of your pieces of fabric. On the green piece, draw some continents inside the circle, using the circle as a guide. I recommend drawing more simple continents, as this will make it easier to sew. Cut out the blue and white circles and the green continents.
Step 2: Sew on the Continents
Using some pins, pin the continents in the location you want them on the blue circle. Thien, use your machine or needle to sew the continents on around their edges.
Step 3: Sew the Pillow
Place the blue circle with continents and the white circle right sides together. Using some pins, pin around the edge. Using two pins, mark a 2-inch section that will not be sewn for turning the pillow the right way. Sew around the edge, leaving your 2-inch section unsewn. Trim the threads, then turn the pillow right side out.
Step 4: Stuff and Finish
Using some stuffing, stuff your pillow through the hole in the side you left open. Sew the opening shut with a needle and thread. You're done! Display it on your bed and keep crafting!
