My 2007 Plasma TV gave out a few months ago and it's been sitting around the house. I tried to fix it, but after troubleshooting and many hours searching for cheap parts, it wasn't looking good. Sometimes I like to add "repurpose" to my web searches to see what others do with their "broken stuff". Lo and behold, I came across this post about turning a TV into an Infinity Mirror. 1 Non-working Panasonic Plasma TV

1 Piece of whiteboard (to be used as a base inside the TV Frame)

2 sets of multi-color battery powered LED's (18 LEDs in each strand)

Step 1: Step 1: Gut the TV

Basically remove everything, leaving just the frame. Be sure to set aside all the screws from the frame so you can use them to put it back together later.

Step 2: Step 2: Add a Base

I cut a piece of thin whiteboard I had laying around to fit the frame. This is used as a flat surface in which to place the mirrors and modified medicine cabinet frames.

Step 3: Step 3: Modify the Medicine Cabinets to Create the Frame

I had a hard time finding mirrors that would work and I wanted to add Dual Infinity Mirrors. While I was wandering around the hardware store, I saw a stack of medicine cabinets. Not only did it have the perfect size mirrors, but the plastic cabinet was the perfect depth. Disassemble the mirror from the cabinet and cut out the bottom of the cabinet.

Step 4: Step 4: Paint the Parts

Before painting the base, place and mark where the mirrors will be to save paint. No need to paint the entire board since the mirrors will be sitting on it. Paint the plastic medicine cabinet frame and the inside of the TV. Same thing about painting. You only need to paint the outer section where the wood base doesn't cover.

Step 5: Step 5: Add the Mirror Film to the TV Screen

Cut the film to size and attach.

Step 6: Step 6: Add LEDs

I used some Christmas LED's and measured and spaced them out around the frame. Drill holes and push the LED's through.

Step 7: Step 7: Put It All Together

I taped the mirror down to the base using black tape. Put the Medicine Cabinet Frames on top of the Mirrors and tape them down to the mirror. Put the Lid back on the TV and secure it with screws.
