Introduction: Playing Card Bookmarks
This project will show you how to create homemade playing card bookmarks that are fun and easy to make! I am entering this into the Out of the Comfort Zone contest as I am not used to making crafts and art.
Step 1: Collect Materials
For this project, you will need:
- Colored Paper
- Mod Podge
- Brush
- Playing Cards
Step 2: Apply Mod Podge
Cut out a bookmark shape from the construction paper and apply a coating of mod podge. I am using a foam brush to do this.
Step 3: Place Playing Cards
Next, I gathered playing cards I would like to use and placed them onto the book mark. It is okay for the playing cards to stick off of the book mark. Make sure to use different sides and cards placed randomly.
Step 4: Trim Excess Playing Cards
After the cards have been stuck to the bookmark, wait until the Mod Podge has dried. Then trim off the playing cards that are sticking out from the paper. Apply an additional layer of Mod Podge on top of the cards.
Step 5: Tie String
Use a hole puncher to get a hole near the top of the bookmark. The using string, tie a bow through the hole.
Step 6: Finished
Your new bookmark is complete. Thank you for trying this project out!

Love this idea! I have a deck that's missing a few cards. Perfect use! And a heart, club, diamond or spade charm on the end of the ribbon would be a cool extra touch if you can find them cheap enough! Or make them! Thank you for sharing. Voted!

Nice! I would use another coat of modge padge after pitting in the cards just for extra shine
