This is a handy, pocket sized ruler and angle meter combined in one model!

Step 1: DESIGN THE MINI RULER

As an architect engineer, the moment I read about this contest I decided to create, from scratch, a mini ruler and angle meter combined in one model. I believe this is a small, handy gadget that various professionals could use.

The first thing to be done is to sketch a lot, until you decide the size and shape of the ruler. Then design the 3d model, but always keep in mind that this item is about to be printed, so there are some restictions in the final design. If you wish, you can cut and engrave the parts via laser cutter.

As this is a ruler, you have to be really careful and accurate while designing the units.

This mini ruler could also become your next keychain!

Step 2: PREPARE THE MODEL FOR 3D PRINTING

Now slice the model in your preferable slicer. All the parts are uploaded and provided in seperate files.

Step 3: PRINT AND TEST THE MODEL

As soon as you print the parts of the model, assemble them and test if it "works" properly. There might be faults in the overall design or in the printing settings you used.

Sorry for the bad printing..i didn't notice the faults while printing the parts.

Step 4: FINAL MODEL

This is the final assembled model, I'm open to any suggestions for improvements.
