Introduction: Pocket Tardis Tissue Holder
I usually carry around a pack of Kleenex in my purse but it tends to look pretty battered after awhile. The plastic tears and the tissues get mangled; so for some time now I've been meaning to make my own pocket Kleenex holder. Being a Dr. Who fan I couldn't resist making it look like the Tardis.
Step 1: Materials
- Blue and white felt
- Colourful fabric for the lining
- Blue and white embroidery thread
- Thread, needle, and scissors
- Blue sharpie
- Pocket sized pack of Kleenex
Step 2:
- 5 1/4 X 7 inch rectangle of blue felt
- 5 3/4 X 7 1/2 inch rectangle of the lining fabric
- 3/4 X 3/4 inch squares -you will need 6 blue ones and two white ones
- 1/2 X 2 inch rectangle of blue felt
- 1/2 X 3/4 inch white felt
Step 3: Pin and Sew Lining
Fold under the edges of the lining fabric and pin it to the blue felt. Either hand stitch or use a sewing machine to sew the two pieces together.
Step 4: Fold
Centre the pack of Kleenex on the fabric (lining side down) fold the ends around the pack and pin it in place. Sew along the ends. Turn it right side out and place the Kleenex pack inside to double check that it fits.
Step 5: Signage
I stitched the letters for the police box sign with embroidery thread. For the door sign I just scribbled on the small square of white felt with a blue sharpie.
Step 6: Add Door Facade
- Lay out the blue and white squares on the front of the tissue holder (three blue on the bottom and the white square on top on either side of the slit).
- Pin the squares and sew them on.
- Sew the white signboard to the top blue square on the left side.
- Sew the police box sign across the top.
- With blue embroidery thread stitch the lines in the window.
- Place the Kleenex pack inside and it's ready to go.

This is great! I can see your basic idea being used for a lot of different things expanding beyond Dr. Who. Well done!

Thanks! Yes that's true, if you are not a Dr. Who fan you can follow up to step 4 and personalized any way you want.

Great job! With all those tissues coming out it's like it's bigger on the inside, or something!
