Introduction: Pokemon GO Egg Incubator
Here is a quick and easy way to incubate your eggs in Pokemon GO without leaving the house! I was surprised that this works, but it does. It will incubate your eggs at a rate of about 1 km per hour - give or take. Start it up, set it aside, watch a movie, and by the end a 2 km egg will be ready to hatch! I've included a video of the incubator in action in the very last step of this instructable so you can see for yourself that it does work.
What you'll need:
- A fan
- Rubber band
- Screw driver (either phillips or flat head depending on the fan's screws)
Gather your materials and let's build this thing.
Step 1: Open the Fan's Casing
First thing you will need to do is open up your fan's casing.
Remove the screws. In my case they were on the back of the casing in each of the four corners. Keep your screws somewhere safe where you wont lose them. That way you can always put the fan back together later.
Now open the casing and stack the part with the fan in it on top of the other. This is to make sure there is airflow below. I've heard that you can start a fire by putting a fan down directly on carpet or cloth.
Step 2: Attach Phone and Start Incubating!
Attach your phone to one of the fan's blades.
Use the rubber band to attach your phone. Spin the fan slowly with your hand to make sure your phone isn't knocking against anything.
Obviously, make sure Pokemon GO is running and you have eggs ready to incubate, and then start the fan. I had mine set on low. Your eggs should incubate at a rate of about 1 km per hour, give or take. Watch the video in the final step to see the incubator in action!
Step 3: Enjoy!
That's all there is to it! Pretty simple. Watch this video to see the incubator in action.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think in the comments!

Hatching eggs does not use the accelerometer in any way, so mimicking steps does not hatch eggs. Egg hatching uses straight-line distance measuring between times of server communication.
At most this will give you .1 to .3 km per hour due to GPS triangulation jitter.

I'm not sure about the specifics, but in my video you can see that it goes from 0.01 km to 0.02 km in about 60 seconds on the fan.
I can also confirm that using this method I hatched an egg. It had about 1 km to go so I attached it to the fan for about 2 hours or so and it hatched.

Nice Idea. What Size Fan did you Use?

It's a small fan I got at Goodwill for $3. You can see the size of it compared to my phone in the photos and video.

And also those who want their eggs to incubate while they watch a movie, do homework, take a nap, etc.

Or during storms or winter. I get the feeling that people see this as cheating, and yeah I guess technically it is. lol. But there are times when it is a good thing, like when you and I have mentioned.

You're a cheater! Just teasing you! But it's awfully clever! :). Hey, my son went up a level while I was driving him around on errands so I can't say anything!!! It is fun to go outside when you can especially with others!

I go outside walking to play the game all the time. It's the only way to utilize Pokestops, Gyms, and catch new Pokemon. This trick is for those times when you want your eggs to incubate, but for whatever reason you can't leave the house. :)
