Intro: Police Uniform

This is my Halloween costume for this year. I originally made it to wear to my moms "Jailbreak" mud run and got lots of attention from everyone. Now the race is over and its time to re-purpose it.

STEP 1: Materials

You will need:
Standard uniform (I got this one at a thrift store).
badge
patches
gun and holster (I used my old co2 bb gun)
Radio and holster (I used a scanner)
magazine holster
pepper spray holster (I used a binoculars holder)
handcuffs
black belt
black shoes

STEP 2: Shirt

Sew on the patches and attach the badge in the appropriate places.

STEP 3: Utility Belt

You can only put this together once your wearing it. Starting from the belt buckle going left i put the radio, binoculars, handcuffs, mags, gun.

I have a recommendation. Move your magazine pouch to the opposite side of your gun holster, so you can easily access the extra ammo.

LOVED IT!!!!! I am shooting a movie for youtube and I need this so thank you I thuoght I would have to buy a cheesy one from a halloween store. THANK YOU

Great Instrucable but where did you get the shirt/pants and everything else? Please give me a link and/or tell me where I can find/ get these apparel.
I got the shirt and pants at a thrift store. The handcuffs, badge, patches, and radio case I bought off amazon.com. The gun, gun holster, radio, mag holster, and binoculars I already owned.

be very careful at how realistic you make this, you dont want to go to jail with a uniform that looks to real. Throw in there a funny word like "halloween Police" or something like that. Several people get arrested every year for wearing Police in their police uniforms, some of them go all out and look like the real deal then they end up with a funny mugshot. Just a little advice from our end. Other than that, good job :)
I bought all of the parts off amazon. I think its funny stuff like this is so available and cheap.
Agreed. I've seen costumes used by businesses, and they never had any patches or anything that actually said "Police". Typically they instead simply had chevrons & rockers (aka military style). People might consider removing anything at all that says "police" and you can still look like an officer. :)
Nice rendition, but must agree it's asking for trouble, and on a night where the real police are out and usually busy. We get several impersonating law enforcement arrest every year, mostly they display some sort of badge or ID (and guns). Too me, this is a very scary costume, could get you arrested, could even get you shot. Probably best not to go out in public, but in home parties would be good.
I appreciate you concern for my safety. I'm not too concerned about getting shot or arrested just because of my location. Its a small town where the only guns are for hunting and there are only 8 patrol officers in the whole town. But you all have given me an idea about losing the gun. I'll turn the costume into robo cop!
adding to what others are saying depending on where you are but I know in the UK that BB gun would get you into trouble because it's too realistic.
You did a good job creating a convincing looking police costume but to add to the good advise the other gentlemen have already given: Ditch the hand cannon if you are planning on wearing this in public/anywhere outside your own home.
In fact, I'd replace it with a baton or a baton like object altogether. A black stick with a short handle is not hard to build and won't give anyone a reason to point a real gun at you.
