Pop Can Tab Hook

In this instructable I will show you a way to make survival fishing hooks using household items and very basic tools.

Step 1: Gather the Things You Need

For this method of making a hook you will need the following things:

Tools: wire cutters and/or scissors, knife/thumbtack, optional: marker

Materials: pop can tab

Step 2: Mark It

Mark where you want to cut with your marker/pen. The steeper the angle on the bottom right the sharper the hook.

Step 3: Cut It

Using your wire cutters cut on the lines that you drew earlier.

Step 4: Poke a Hole

Using your knife/thumbtack poke a hole in the top of the hook. This hole is for the line to go through.

Step 5: You’re Done!

Since the hook isn’t very heavy in my experience you won’t be able to cast it very far without a sinker or two
