Introduction: Easy Pop-up Halloween Card

About: hallo! I do this just for fun ( ◕ ᴥ ◕ )

Hi! Since Halloween is in a month (which is kinda long lol), I decided to make a Halloween Card. I have never heard of anyone making it but you can give it to a friend or just keep the pop-up for yourself! Something I just realized is if you are making it, you have to push the ghost down before you close it!

Supplies

You will need...

Cardstock or drawing paper (as long as it is strong paper) (1x)

Glue and/or tape (1x)

Scissors (1x)

Yellow Post-it (3x)

A black marker (1x)

Black gel pen (1x)

Black Construction Paper (1x)

Coloring Materials (I'm using colored pencils and markers) (1x)

and a pencil (1x)

Step 1: the Card Base

First, cut out a 19x15 cm rectangle from your cardstock. After you have done that, fold it in half so the 19 cm in half. Once the card is folded, it should still be 15 cm wide. Next, in the center, cut two slits about 2 cm in, 4 cm apart. Then, fold the slit part the opposite side so its folded inwards. Theres a 2x4 cm gap when you close the card. After that, cut a 5.5x0.75 cm piece of cardstock and fold them like a harmonica. I also rounded out my card because I don't want anything too sharp but you don't have to do this step.

Step 2: Pop-up Pictures

Now, we are going to make the things that are supposed to be popped up. I am doing a bunch of haunted houses with a ghost. Take your pencil and draw whatever design you want for this step. Now is also the time to draw the background you want for your card. Be sure to color in the popped in piece too. I am drawing the night sky with a full moon. To make the haunted house, I took a piece of the black construction paper and drew out 3 houses with a 5 windows and a door and cut them out. I put one post-it for each out behind the house to make it look like the lights are on. I cut away the excess and glued it onto the house. I made 3 of those. Then, I used a piece of cardstock and made pumpkins and colored them in with marker. I taped those in between each house to connect them

Step 3: Assemble!

( for extra decoration, like stars in the sky, get some white paint and splatter them in the sky before you start assembling!) First, take your ghost and the harmonica piece of paper and or glue them together. Then, glue or tape (i did both) the harmonica with the ghost on to the card. Place it anywhere you want. After I did that, I took the haunted house and glued it onto the popped out part. Lastly, write the card! A card wouldn't mean much if you didn't write anything on it! And we are done! Just make sure you push the ghost down before closing! :)
