- Using a sharp object like compass, outline where the paper will be folded
Step 4: Popping
- Using gentle force push and fold to get cake popped out
- Start from bottom then middle and then top

Tip 2 months ago on Step 5
1. "Heavy" cardstock is a MUST, both for the the pop-up inside part as well as the backing/outside of the card. Print this template directly onto heavy cardstock!
2. If you're going to add graphics like a candle, balloons, presents, etc. import the original template PDF into a photo editor like Gimp. This allows you to size and place the graphics where you want on the card. Bear in mind these images (and the orientation of the card itself) will be reversed as the printed side becomes the "back" of the inside of the card.
3. I can't stress this enough: The printed side of the cardstock is the BACK of the inside of the card.
4. I can't stress this enough either: scoring the fold lines for the cake is IMPERATIVE! I used the back edge of an Exacto knife. I started by scoring on the printed side, and as I was pushing the cake through I found I needed to score along the blank front side as well for folds in a certain direction. (I found out the hard way. On my first attempt I didn't score any fold lines and my card became wrinkled and crumpled from trying to push the cake through and then pinch the folds in the right direction. Scoring prevents this wrinkling/crumpling from happening. Don't make the same mistake I did and end up having to start over again like I did.)

why not put the template in the downloadable pdf instructions instead of link to another location that doesnt have it or it doesnt work!? its an A4 template so it would be only 1 additional pg if you included it here?
bit annoying to have read through the entire thing, download your instructional guide here and then find that the link is rubbish.
