Introduction: Portable Charger
Hi !
This instructable will be about how to make cheap cellphone charger with simple items.
Items needed...
*LM7805 Voltage regulator
*usb cable for your device
*9V battery clip & battery
*Shrink tubeing or tape
* I used small pcb too to make things easyer
Tools needed...
* Sodering gun and soder
* Hot glue
* Scisors
I think thats all....
Steps...
1.Collect all needed items and tools
2. Prepare wires by cutting them to size and pre sodering
3. Soder all to pcb or simply soder them like in schematic
4.Connect clip to battery and u'r done!

I made this charger and I connected my phone(blackberry) to it , it charges up for a millisecond and den stops charging can u pls tell me where I am going wrong?thanks

Becouse for iphone you must provide data + and data- you can see version 2 of this build in my newest project http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pzkkz24z_I Much safer for phone and more simple to make ;)

Nice design.
But you should definitely add two ceramic capacitors (100nF or so). One between input and GND and one between output and GND. You can (and should) mount them directly at the 7805.
Without them, the 7805 can start oscillating. Granted, it depends on the brand of the 7805 and maybe even on the battery and load levels - and it will work most of the time, but when it fails, it can generate something like a 7V rectangular wave with a frequency of some kHz. Not something I'd like to feed into my phone.
Had to learn that the hard way, when a power supply suddenly didn't work any more.

Yup that actualy greate idea but at the moment i build this i had no capacitors ... thats kind of sad becouse i send them but shipping didnt arrive but thanks for your suggestion i realy appriciate than pepople suggest's me to upgrade or gives ideas ...so yea Thanks!
