Introduction: Portable LEGO IPad Stand
I made an iPad stand that can fold up into a flat thingy. It can fit in a backpack very easily, and I usually just put it in my iPad case.
Step 1: Materials
You will need:
ALL OBJECTS ARE LABELED IN PICTURE! (I make up weird names for things, just bear with me)
1x11 Holy Tube Thingy x4
1x9 Holy Tube Thingy x3
1x15 Holy Tube Thingy x2
10m Axle Rod x3
Weird T Joint Thingy x2
Junction Joint Thingy x2
um... I'll call it a Thingy x2
Black Tube Connecters x10
Triple Black Tube Connecters x2
Spacers x4
Half-Spacers x12
Lay them out like I did.
Step 2: Base
Take the T Thingys and put them on the end of the long tubes.
Then, Put the axle rods into the right holes (you can tell where to put them form the picture), and put the half spacers on the exposed ends of the axle rod.
You are done with the base!
Step 3: Back
Take all of the remaining holy tubes and lay them out like i did, then put them together.
This will be the back that you can fold up and down.
Step 4: Fusion Time!
Connect the Back to the Base as shown.
You are done!
Step 5: Use
First 3 pics show 60 degree angle
last 3 show 30 degree angle

Well, I got all of my parts from a LEGO Mindstorms kit, but I'm sure you could find the parts in various other kits or, better yet, create it in the lego digital designer and buy the parts! lol

awesome design! i've been debating whether or not i should get the ipad, and one of the reasons against it were the overpriced accessories, but this might be a turning point!

Great design, but i modified it by adding 'legs' to the base (Basically 4 135 degree elbows on each corner) so that i could connect a cable to the iPad.

Nice addition! I'll try that.

Beautiful design! I have been messing with my mindstorms set for sometime looking for the perfect stand and this was much ahead of what I had created. Great Job!
