I'm not sure this really qualifies as a real project, but it is coming in handy for me so I thought I would pass it along. I have been doing a lot of work lately with different boards and projects that need low voltage power from 3 to 12 VDC. I have different size battery packs for this but its a pain and you use a lot of batteries. I picked this power supply up at MCM for $20 (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/browse/Power-Supplies/0000001251) and I had a multi power adapter that went bad (17VCD regardless of the voltage selected). It had a bunch of different connectors on the end and is prefect for my boards and such. I even made a 9VDC adapter so it can power my bread board projects. As you can see there isn't much to it, just cut the wire off of the old adapter and attach it to the power supply. You now have multiple connectors and an adjustable supply. This one handles up to 2 amps which makes it great for powering my robots.
