Introduction: Primitive Fish Trap

This is very easy to make and could possibly save your life in a survival situation.

Step 1: Collect Small Sticks

The body of the trap will be made from a grouping of small sapplings, and branches. Depending on the size of your trap is how much wood you will need to collect and how long the pieces need to be.

Step 2: Sharpen Points on One Side of All of Your Sticks

This will help securing the sticks into the bottom of the creek/river

Step 3: Arrange the Sticks in a Shape Like So

The funnel is upstream which causes the fish to swim into it while traveling down stream.

Step 4: Increasing Your Odds

You can also arrange rocks or anything else you can find to go across the creek, fish will follow the path of least resistance so if u pile rocks up the funnel will look as though it is easier to travel through.

Step 5: Tips

A good rule of thumb is that if your finger can fit in between the sticks the space is much too big.

Choose a shallow part of creek that isnt too wide.

Scout out for fish and watch how they travel to figure out how and where to set your trap.
