Introduction: Pringle Packet Red Rocket

Today I am showing you how to make a red pringle packet rocket with stuff you may be able to find around your house. We will go into some steps on how to put it together.This took me 2 Days to make, Yep that's right 2 DAYS!

Step 1: Shopping List

Around The House:

  • Pringle Pack (Large)
  • Cardboard
  • Black Marker
  • Scissers
  • Paper
  • Hot glue Gun and glue

Go shopping:

  • Masking Tape......................02.00
  • Red Spray Paint..................06.00
  • Foam Nose cone.................03.33
  • 1/4 Braided elastic cording..12.00
  • A parachute.........................00.00 (I Made my own)
  • Rocket Wadding..................00.00 (I Made my own)
  • C6-5 Model rocket motor.....22.49 (For a 3 Pack)

Step 2: Nose Cone + Body

So Grab your foam nose cone and cut about 60 cm of elastic coding then put it in some paper folded and hot glue it together with the nose cone, Do the same but with the body

Step 3: Cardboard Fins

Now get your cardboard and print out the attached file then glue it on the cardboard, after that cut out the fins. and make sure all 3 line up.

Step 4: Fins + Body + Black Marker

Glue the fins on around every 7 cm on the bottom of the pringle packet, you can and it is recommenced you cut some holes for the fins. After you like the positioning, hot glue them. Now once the hot glue has had time to dry draw on the fins so they are black.

Step 5: Marker + Nose Cone

Now you can as the title says draw on the nose cone.

Step 6: Masking

Get out some masking tap and mask the fins the top opening the bottom area and the cording.

Step 7: Paint

Now you Can spray paint it all red and after that is dry you can go onto the next step. I did 3 Layers Of Red

Step 8: Hole for Motor

Put your motor where you want it on the bottom then drill a hole there, start from a smaller bit then get larger.

Step 9: Hot Glue the Motor

Now get the hot glue gun and glue the motor in the hole you cut

Step 10: Prepare for Launch

Put your parachute and Wadding the the rocket (If you have a camera tape that on now) then put your igniter inside your motor, then lastly connect up your launch controller and do the countdown. 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 LIFT OFF.

Step 12: Next Time

Next time if i had a 3D Printer I would of 3D printed the fins and the nose cone as they where a bit off, in fact i would do an instructable on how to design and 3D print a rocket.
