Introduction: Programming Buzz Lightyear
Using this instructable, we will program the ProtoSnap to enable the Buzz Lightyear action figure to speak his famous catch phrase, "To infinity and beyond!"
Step 1: Materials
1 Buzz Lightyear action figure
1 solderless breadboard
1 ProtoSnap circuit board
1 relay
1 mini USB cable
4 jumper cables
2 alligator clip cables
Arduino on computer
Step 2: Disassemble
Unscrew the jet pack from the back of the Buzz Lightyear action figure
Once the jet pack is off, fold down the wings of the Buzz Lightyear action figure and unscrew the four screws located in the far corners of his torso
You may want to remove the arms, head, and visor on the figure for easier access to the electronics
Step 3: Connecting Protosnap
Connect the ProtoSnap circuit board to the solderless breadboard.
Step 4: Connect USB Cable
Connect the USB cable from the Protosnap to the computer
Step 5: Connect the Relay
Connect the relay to the solderless breadboard
Step 6: Connecting the Wires
Connect one of the jumper cables from GND to one of the middle slots on the breadboard adjacent to the relay
Connect another jumper cable from pin 12 to the other middle slot on the breadboard adjacent to the relay
Connect a third jumper cable from a slot located on the furthest edge of the relay to an alligator clip cable
Connect the fourth jumper cable from the other slot on the edge of the relay to the second alligator clip cable
Step 7: Connecting Buzz Lightyear Figure
Locate the red and black wires, which controls the power source on the Buzz Lightyear figure
Carefully strip the black and red wire casing with a pair of wire cutters, so that the inner wires are slightly exposed for the alligator clip cables to be attached.
Clip the other ends of the alligator cables to the exposed wires.
Step 8: Open Up Arduino
Get the code from here:
Step 9: Finishing Up
Once you have inserted the program onto Arduino, click on the upload button.
Gently move the relay in an upward motion with your index finger. The Buzz Lightyear action figure should speak his famous phrase, “TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!”

I am not sure what the purpose of this is. My Buzz already says this.
