Introduction: Pull Down Rope

Greetings!! Needing a pull down rope for the home gym, making one was more fun than purchasing and it gets used quite frequently.

Step 1: Supplies

What you will need:

  1. Tennis ball X2
  2. Rope
  3. Drill

Step 2: Construction

  1. Drill holes in the top and bottom of the tennis balls.
  2. Cut the rope. (Length may vary and the tennis balls can be adjusted)
  3. Feed the rope through both holes of the tennis balls on either side of the rope.
  4. Tie a knot at the bottom of the rope to keep the tennis balls from falling off.

Step 3: Final Product

Placing the pull down rope on the pull down bar, I am able to target the lats and the triceps effectively. Placing the hands above and against the tennis balls and pulling down with a heavy weight is more comfortable on the hands as the tennis balls provide a soft buffer from the knots on the rope.

There is more of a feel of the lats and triceps working versus the straight arm pull down and there is also a greater range of motion. Happy Lifting!
