Introduction: Pumpkin Bread

Hello, I am Wyatt Wieland, this is an instructable on how to make the best pumpkin bread that you have ever tasted. This is a recipe that my grandmother has bestowed upon me so I may make it for my friends. This has been everyone's favorite item that I have brought in throughout the years, it has been requested as a wedding gift and delivered as a Christmas gift. It holds no special name but has the most wonderful tastes, other kids have told their grandmothers how my grandmother’s pumpkin bread is superior to that of their own. It holds its head high as it is sought after and paid for in some occasions. But you will get this for free.

Materials:
Flour - 3 ½ cups

Sugar - 3 cups (will need a more/ no exact amount)

Vegetable Oil - 1 cup

Water - ⅔ cup

Baking Soda - 2 teaspoons

Pumpkin Pie Spice - 2 teaspoons

Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon

Salt - 1 teaspoon

4 Eggs

Can of pumpkin - 15 oz

2 Standard Loaf Pans

2 Big mixing bowls

Step 1: Preparing

First Preheat the oven to 350° so the bread is ready to go right in the oven when you get there. Now you must separate the ingredients into two piles. For the first side, pair these ingredients with the bowl that is slightly larger. You will need flour, sugar, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and finally salt. Now for the slightly smaller bowl you should have eggs, the 15 oz. can of pumpkin, oil, and water. These need to be separated for now and will be brought together later in the process.

Step 2: The First Bowl

In the first bowl, the one that is slightly larger, you will need to measure out and add all the ingredients to the bowl . First measure out the 3 ½ cups of flour and add it to the bowl. Next measure out 3 cups of sugar an add it to the bowl. You should spend time mixing the two to create an even spread after you add them together. Add the 2 teaspoons of baking soda and mix, then add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and mix. You can tell we need to mix after every ingredient in order to get a nice mixture and spread in the bowl. Now add 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice and finally the 1 teaspoon of sugar. Be sure that the ingredients are mixed well and spread throughout the bowl, if there are clumps of ingredients, and it is not spread you may not get the expected outcome. The ingredients don't have to be added in any specific order, but I suggest to start with flour, after that add it in any way you like.

Step 3: The Second Bowl

The next step involves the next bowl. This bowl is important because it contains the mush of our bread. Take your can of pumpkin and empty all 15 oz. into the bowl. Try and get as much as you can out of it as to not waste any of the cooking material. Next crack open 4 eggs and pour the yolk into the bowl. Do not add the shells or you will ruin the bread. Be sure to mix between steps. Next measure out ⅔ cups of water and mix the bowl. Lastly add the 1 cup of oil and mix everything together. You should now have a bowl that is a solid and a bowl that is a mix of a solid and a liquid.

Step 4: Combining the Bowls

Once both your bowls are properly mixed we can move on to the next step which is combining the two bowls together. To begin slowly add the first bowl, the one that is slightly larger, to the second bowl. You should only add a little at a time and you should be mixing during the entire process in order to not get an uneven spread. After pouring little by little and mixing throughout the process you should have an orange dough-like substance. Be sure everything is mixed together and the oven is ready.

Step 5: Into the Pans, Into the Oven

Get out your standard loaf pans, cooking spray (PAM), and the sugar again. Spray the inner walls of your two loaf pans with your cooking spray and give the walls a light coating of the sugar. Try to make it even on all sides and don't add too much, this could be detrimental to the bread. Once all walls have the thin coat of sugar pour half of your bowl into both of the loaf pans. Once they are full, place them into the oven, if it is at the correct temperature let it cook for 1 hour.

Step 6: Enjoy!

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool down for a few hours. This bread is not meant to be eaten heated. If done correctly your bread should be an orange, brown color that is soft at the top and more firm at the bottom, but not super firm. Share this with your friends, family, or keep it all to yourself because you have just made the best pumpkin bread that you will ever eat. Give out small pieces and make your friends jealous that you have this delicious food and they don’t, it is important that you gloat. Now that you have made this pumpkin bread, you probably want some more luckily for you now you know how to make some. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoyed the pumpkin bread, I know I have and those that I share with do too.
