Step 1: Ingredients for Cake

1 1/4 cup butter

2 eggs

1 cup sugar

1 15 ounce can of pumpkin purée or homemade

3 cups flour

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice or all spice

1/2 teaspoon ginger

Step 2: Steps for Cake

In a medium bowl, add the dry ingredients except the sugar.
In a large bowl add the eggs and sugar.
Then add the butter and purée.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix.
Put the batter into a bundt pan.
Put in the oven on 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
You will need to separate the batter into 2 and you need to make 2 bundt cakes in order to create the shape of a pumpkin.

Step 3: Ingredients for Frosting

8 ounces cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon butter
1/2 cup sugar
Food coloring

Step 4: Steps for Making Frosting

Add all the ingredients to a medium bowl except for the food coloring.
Get two bowls and separate the frosting into the bowls.
Add the orange food coloring into one bowl and the green into the other.

Step 5: Building the Cake

Stack the cakes.
Spread the orange frosting.
Fill the hole with frosting.
You can make a stem with paper.

Step 6: Results.

Refrigerate and enjoy!

    So tasty! I love the texture you added with the icing, truly the icing on the cake in many ways! Ok that was a really bad pun.

    Looks too good to eat! I've made a few pumpkin-shaped cakes before but it never occurred to me to bake 2 cakes, so mine were, I guess, 1/2-pumpkin cakes. Another thing I did differently - I cut a circle out of a foam plate that was small enough to cover the hole in the middle (it sat about an inch or so below the highest part of the cake), then frosted it with the orange frosting. I also melted some chocolate - chips, candy bar, whatever as long as it was plain chocolate - and pour it into a well washed prescription bottle or a tiny cup like those that come with liquid OTC medicine, again well washed. Once the chocolate had hardened I'd dip the "mold" in hot water for a few seconds, until the outside edge of the chocolate had melted enough so the cylinder of chocolate would slide out. Then, using a serrated knife, I'd carve it so that it looked like a pumpkin stem -large at the bottom with sides curving up to about half the size of the base. The teeth of the knife, when scraped from top to bottom, makes very realistic grooves in the stem. Now you have the special treat of the chocolate stem to offer someone special.
    These instructions were terribly long (you could almost have done what I described in the time it took to type this!) but it's really quite simple!
