Introduction: Pumpkin Name Card

About: Dreamer

Hello!!!
The holiday season is upon us and we all want to have a really good time, afterall we have been through a lot this year. It's time to have fun with our family, friends and loved ones. It's the time to relax and indulge in the cheerful mood holidays bring with them.
The best part about the holidays which I like, especially are the family dinners with our loved ones. Family dinners are good, but don't we all like the sophistication that formal dinners offer.
Therefore, this year I thought of making something that will make our ordinary family dinners much like a formal dinner. I thought of making name cards. I tried making some and realized that they were not looking as anticipated. I searched on the internet and found something called as pumpkin name cards and realized that, it was the thing I wanted. So, I made some.
I have shared the steps to make these pumpkin name cards in this instructable, hope you'll like it. The materials required to make these cards are listed below.

Supplies

Orange paper
Brown paper
Green paper
Scissors
Glue
Correction pen/ black marker pen
Pencil and scale

Step 1: Cutting Strips

Take an orange colored sheet of paper. You have to cut strips out of this sheet. The dimensions of the strips are 14.5cm x 2.5cm. Mark the measurements on the sheet and then cut the strips. You need to cut four strips for one pumpkin name card. The size I shared with you is the perfect for decorating your dinning table.

Step 2: Forming the Pumpkin Body

Take one strip, at the centre (lengthwise) of it paste the centre of another so that they form a cross. Similarly, paste the other strips accordingly as shown in the pictures. Just them coinciding there centres with each other and leaving equal spaces between them.
Now, join the opposite ends of the strips together. Just know that the ends of the same strips are to be joined together.

Step 3: Forming Stems and Leaf

Now, you have to make a leaf to put on your pumpkin. Draw a shape of a leaf on a green paper and cut it out. Olny one leaf would be enough for one card but if you wish to add more you can.

Now, for the stems you would have to do quilling (Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative design).
First, take thin strips of brown paper if you don't have it already, then just cut strips of dimensions 0.4cm × 16cm long from any brown colored paper.
Now, just roll them with the help of a needle or a pen or pencil, it is not important if it is nicely rolled up, you would be needing only a little of that rolled up touch to give it that stem look.
Last but not the least, you have to make the card on which you will write the name of your guest. For that, you will require a piece of brown paper that should be of the dimension 4.5cm × 1.5cm. On this piece of paper you have to write the name of the guest, you can use a correction pen to do so as brown is a pretty dark color, but if you are using a light brown paper than balck marker can also work. I write "name" on the first one as it was a prototype.

Step 4: Assembling

Glue all the things together. Start by gluing the leaf first on the pumpkin then paste the name card over it and in the end glue your quilled strips.
And it's done!!!!
Enjoy your family dinner with these pumpkin name cards and have a fun time.
Happy Holidays!!
