Introduction: Pumpkin Spider
Kickoff the Halloween season with this fun project for kids and adults! It’s an easy diy decoration that you can display all month long.
-8 pipe cleaners
-buttons or paint for the eyes
-your choice of paint for the body and a paintbrush
-hot glue and a hot glue gun
Step 1: Painting the Body
Start with painting the pumpkin, which will be the body. It’s easiest to paint half, let it dry, then paint the other half. I painted mine black with a little purple. Also paint the orange, which will be the head. For legs, I put 8 pipe cleaners on a piece of parchment paper with spots of black paint. I folded the paper and coated the pipe cleaners in paint. (I only had white pipe cleaners so I painted them. You don’t have to paint them if they are the color you need). And what craft isn’t complete without a little glitter! I added some sliver glitter to give it some sparkle. After everything has been painted, let it dry.
Step 2: Glue It Together
Once everything is dry, it’s time to glue all the pieces together. Starting with the face, add the gems or paint for the eyes and paint on any extra details you want. On the body, I used hot glue and attached the pipe cleaners, bending them to add some whimsy. After that, use hot glue to attach the body and the head. Make sure to leave time for it to dry.
Step 3: The End
And the Pumpkin Spider is done! Add any last adjustments and put it on display for all the trick-or-treaters to see!
