Introduction: Pyro Glove/ Wrist Mounted Flamethrower

For this instructable I am going to teach you how to make a Pyro glove/wrist mounted flamethrower. It is very simple and super fun to use. I got the idea to make this from Pyro/John from X-men the last stand. I this will not make it possible for you to manipulate fire it just throw it. Warning this instructable deals with high voltage electricity and fire, and I can't be held responsible for any destroyed property or if you hurt yourself or anyone else in the process of making or using to device. So now that we got that take care of let's get started.

Step 1: What You Need...

1. Butane refills (I used 18 ml. canisters)

2. Fuel line

3. A glove

4. Some thick string

5. A straight metal bracket

6. Some stiff wire

7. Something that can hold the butane canister (I used an old pocket knife holster)

8. A small piece of tube.

9. A metal nut (like a nut and bolt not like a peanut) it needs to be big enough that the piece of tube can fit inside the hole.

10. Some cardboard(you can use a wrist brace in place of the glove and cardboard).

11. A few bracelets or some thin rope

The next few things are optional you only need them if you want to make the igniting mechanism (I would suggest that you just use a Bic lighter because the igniting mechanism doesn't work well)

12. An electric flyswatter

13. Some electrical wire

14. A wire connector

Step 2: Tools...

1. Hot Glue Sticks/Hot Glue Gun

2.Solder/Soldering Iron (Optional)

3. Multi Tool

4. Drill

Step 3: The Glove.....

The first thing you need to do it get your glove. You are going to want to cut a hole in the center of your palm (Tip: I always burn the edges when I make a cut in the glove.). Now, set the glove aside and take your fuel line, the small piece of tube, and the metal nut. Take the plastic tube and use hot glue to close off the one end. Now drill a hole in the side of the small tube just big enough for the fuel line to fit in. Stick the tip of the fuel line into the hole that we just drilled and use hot glue to hold it in place. Now, take you metal nut and glue it on the open end of the plastic tube. Now, put all the stuff that you just glued together into the glove and push the nut through the hole you cut in the palm. When you look at the glove, all you should see is the nut sticking through. (Optional: You can use a needle and thread to hold it firmly in place.) Put hot glue around the nut on the outside of the glove to prevent the nut from falling over in mid use. Now, set the glove aside.

Step 4: The Butane Canister Holder...

In this step you will need to cut piece of cardboard the appropriate size for your forearm. We are going to be using the cardboard to mount the Butane canister on your arm. In this step, you may have to improvise with the materials. I used an old pocket knife holster. But, you can use zip-ties or anything you have lying around that will hold the Butane canister tightly in place. If you are using zip-ties, you will want to cut slits on one side for the straps to go through. (Refer to pictures for more details.)

Step 5: The Butane Releasing Device...

For this step you will need the stiff wire, thick string, and the straight metal bracket. Use the stiff wire to make two loops that can fit loosely over your fingers. Now take the straight metal bracket and drill a hole in the center of the bracket just big enough to fit the tip of the nozzle of the Butane canister. Then drill two more holes on the straight metal bracket on each side. Those holes just have to be big enough to put the thick string through it. Take your thick string and cut two pieces the length of your finger tips to your elbow. Tie one to one of the stiff wire loops you made and tie the other string to the second loop. Take the cardboard with the butane canister in its holder and stick the straight metal bracket over the nozzle with the hole you made earlier. Then, secure it firmly on your arm at the appropriate place. Then, take the two loops with the string tied to them and place them over your middle and index fingers. Put the stings firmly down to the straight metal bracket that is placed over the butane canister and tie them tightly in the hole that you made on the sides. It is important the you have your hand flat while measuring this distance.

Step 6: The Igniting Device (the Optional Step) ...

This step deals with high voltage electricity so be careful!!! This stepis optional, in place of the igniting device you can use a lighter it is much smaller and easier to use. But just in case you want to make it here are the instructions. The first thing you need to do is pull out the batteries (if you are using rechargeable one and you can't pull the batteries then just be extra careful because you can give yourself a nasty shock) You need to do is take the electric fly swatter, unscrew all of the exterior screws. When all of the screws are out pull off the outer plastic casing (be really careful what you touch to make sure you don't shock yourself). When the plastic casing is off the part that zaps the bugs should be connected to the circuit board by three wires, cut the wires in such a way that there is as much wire left attached to the circuit board as possible. Two of the wires attached to the circuit board lead to the same solder point cut off ONE of them. Now solder the remaining two wires to the two leads of the female piece of the wire connector(you don't need to use a wire connector but it makes it easier to put on and take off). Now take the stiff wire bend them into two L shapes. Now take the L shaped wires and glue them to the side of the nut that is attached to the glove (make sure the wires don't touch the nut). Make sure the ends of the L shaped wires that you glued to the nut almost touch in the center of the nut (right over the hole) so the spark will jump across the gap and ignite the butane gas. Now take about three inches of electrical wire and strip both ends of both of the three inch wires. Now take one of the wires we just striped and solder one end to one of the L shaped wires and the other end to one of the leads the other piece of the mail piece of the wire connector. Now take the other piece of three inch wire and solder one end of it to the other L shaped wire and the other end to the other lead of the male wire connector. And your done!!!

Step 7:

All you need to do to use it is put it on, put everything together bend your wrist back to release the butane and ignite it with a lighter or with the igniting device by pressing the button on the handle. The farther back you bend your wrist the bigger the flame. Have fun and be very careful!!! Your votes would be very much appreciated!!!
