This quick and easy peach cobbler recipe is sure to please your family for under $7.00. I make this dessert for my family all the time and everyone always raves over it.

Step 1: Ingredients:

  • 2 Pillsbury pie crusts (The kind you find in the refrigerated section of your grocery store. In my store they're near the milk and eggs)
  • 2 29oz cans of sliced peaches
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1-2 Tbs Ground Cinnamon
  • 3 Tbs of butter

Step 2: Preparation

Pour the peaches into a large bowl and pour off half the juice. Add about 1 Tbs of cinnamon to the cup of sugar. Pour about 3/4 of the cinnamon/sugar mixture into the peaches and mix it in thoroughly. Now pour the peaches into a baking dish. Unroll the 2 pie crusts and take a knife or pizza cutter to slice it into strips about 1/2 to an 1 inch wide. Arrange the strips of pie crust in a weave or grid pattern on top of the peaches. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon/sugar mix on top of the cobbler. Now drizzle about 3 pallets of melted butter over the dish. I then add just a few sprinkles of straight cinnamon over the top of the entire dish for a little more color and yummy cinnamon flavor. Now all that's left is to pop it in the oven at 450 for 15 to 20 minutes... just watch for the top to brown nicely.

Step 3: Indulge

The pie crusts should run you less then $3.00 (~$2.75 at my local grocery store). The peaches are under $2.00 a can (~$1.75 locally for me). The prices on the sugar, cinnamon, and butter are negligible because most households will have them available and we are only using a small portion of what you would purchase. This gives you a yummy dessert for several meals through the week for about $7.00. Not bad if you have a family to feed!
