Introduction: Quick Cheesymite Scrolls + Choc Hazelnut Scrolls

Ingredients:

Bread

  • self raising flour - 1 1/3 cup
  • bicarb of soda - 1 pinch
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • softened butter - 1/2 tablespoon
  • milk - 1/3 cup

Fillings:

  • cheese - 50 grams
  • vegemite - 2 teaspoons
  • margarine - 2 teaspoons

(alternately swap filling to ham and cheese, or choc hazelnut spread, or anything you like)

Supplies

Tools:

  • Oven
  • rolling pin
  • mixing bowl
  • spoon
  • butter knife
  • more flour - 2 tbsp

Step 1: Heat Oven

Hear oven to 200C (400F).

Step 2: Mix Dough

Mix the flour, bicarb-soda, salt, butter and milk to make a dough.

Mix with spoon until combined, then need into a dough by hand.

Step 3: Roll Dough

Powder the bench with flour, then kneed dough three more times and roll flat. (about 5mm thickness.)

Step 4: Add Toppings

Spread butter and vegemite, great cheese on top.

Alternatively:

sprinkle with ham and cheese

or choc hazelnut spread

or any of your favorite toppings.

Step 5: Cut Into Slices

Cut dough into slices 2 cm wide. (2 fingers wide)

Step 6: Roll Slices

Roll slices into spirals.

Step 7: Bake

Lay scrolls flat on tray lined with baking paper. so that spirals are visible from above.

Bake for 12 minutes.

Step 8: Cool and Enjoy

Allow to cool for 3 minutes and enjoy.
