Introduction: Quick & Easy Chocolate Banana Icecream

You know when you have lots of bananas going a little bit brown? Here's the easy and tasty solution.

Freeze them, and make a delicious, refreshing (and healthy!) dessert.

Supplies

All you need is:

  • 2 chopped frozen bananas (around 200g)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 25g hot chocolate powder/nesquik/cacao powder
  • approx 1 tbsp milk (or milk alternative)
  • toppings of your choice e.g. smarties
  • food processor/blender
  • silicon spatula

Step 1: Freeze the Bananas

If you haven't already frozen the bananas (I do this every time I have bananas going brown), peel the bananas, chop them into 2cm chunks, place on a baking tray and freeze for at least 5 hours. Once frozen, they can be bagged, or stored in a container for future use.

Step 2: First Blend

Pop the 2 frozen bananas (approx 200g) in the blender, and blend until they look like very small pieces. This took about 15 seconds, but it depends on the speed and power of your blender/processor.

Step 3: Add Flavours

Add in 1tbsp of coconut oil, and 25g of chocolate powder and blend again. It will start to mix up and look powdery. I blended for another 15 seconds.

Step 4: Final Blend Until Smooth

If your dessert looks lumpy like mine, then add the optional tablespoon of milk (or alternative). I also scraped the sides with a silicon spatula to help mix all the ingredients together. Blend on highest speed for about 30 seconds - 1 minute. It should then look creamy and smooth.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!

Serve in a small bowl and top with treats of your choice. I used smarties and a mint leaf. Eat and enjoy! It makes two small desserts, or one if you are feeling peckish. 😋
