Introduction: Quick and Easy Crochet Rose!

This is one of the quickest crochet projects I've ever done, and it leads to such a cute finish! The rose uses simple stitches and can be finished in nearly no time at all! It is perfect for beginners and makes a really cute rose that you can pin or sew on to anything! It is also perfect for spring!

To make life easier for you, or if you are new to crochet, here are the abbreviations for the stitches:

sl st - slip stitch

ch- chain

sc - single crochet

hdc - half double crochet

dc - double crochet

Supplies

- 4 yarn (any colour of rose you want! + leaf)

- Darning needle

-6mm/I-9 crochet hook

Step 1: Chain

With the yarn you chose for your rose, chain 51. Pretty simple, right? ; )

Step 2: Making the Base

Ok, so you're going to do a sc in the second ch from your hook, Next, *ch 2, skip ch, then sc in next chain*. Just repeat *to* until you get to the end! It should look similar to the images above.

Step 3: Crocheting the Petals

Turn, and ch 1. Then, in ch2 space, do 3 hdc, chain 1, sl st (all in the ch2 space). In the next chain 2 space, sl st, ch 1 , 3 hdc, ch1, sl st. Repeat that once more, then, instead of doing the 3 hdc, you're going alternate between 4 hdc and 5 hdc, so it'll be *sl st, 1 ch, 4 hdc, 1 ch, sl st* and *sl st, 1 ch, 4 hdc, 1 ch, sl st*. Repeat *to* for the rest of the row. Fasten off and weave in the ends!

It should ressemble the pictures above.

Step 4: Rolling It and Sewing

For this step, you're going to want to role it into the shape of a rose, starting with the end of the 3 hdc side. When you find the shape you want, sew it with the darning needle and the yarn that you used before. This part is mostly up to you, so, feel free to be creative about this! Once you're done, weave in the ends!

Step 5: Add a Leaf

You are done with the flower (woohoo!), so this last step is optional. If you would like, you can make a leaf to make the colour of the rose pop! So, here are the steps:

Using the same hook, a 5.5mm/I-9, ch 6, and then, in the second chain from hook, do a *sc, a hdc, a dc, a hdc, and finally a sc*. Repeat *to* on the other side of the chain. Fasten off and weave in the ends! Sew in the leaf to the flower, or you can keep it seperate. This, again, is up to you! : )

Step 6: You're Done!

Yay, it's done! You can sew it on to whatever you like. For example, I sewed it onto a hat I made, of the same colour yarn. You could also but it on a headband, or turn it into a hair accesory... The options are endless!

Hope you enjoyed it, and if you have any questions, let me know!
