Introduction: Quote Artwork (Level - Easy)

Hi there!

If you want to see more tutorials like this one, I would appreciate it if you would "Vote" for me!

Thanks^^

Step 1: What You'll Need:

-A Surface To Paint On (I used wood, but I have made the artwork on paper before)

-A Quote Of Your Choice

-Paint

-Brush

-Magazines (having more than one is optional but definitely useful)

-Glue (Can be glue stick, white glue... I find a glue stick easiest to use)

-Scissors (or a paper trimmer)

-Charms (optional)

Step 2: Cut Out Your Quote

Cut your quote and place it how you want it to be placed in the end.

However, don't stick it down... yet.

This is kind of a "mini plan" to give you a small preview of how it will look like.

Step 3: Paint!

Grab your paint and paint your surface!

No need to make it "perfect", as long as it covers the entire surface.

This will provide a background in case you miss a spot, and will cover any empty spaces.

(Believe me, it's a life saver sometimes)

Step 4: Cut Pieces of Your Magazine

I find best patterns come from a background of a poster!

You can also use scrapbooking paper, or even your own photos!

Best way to cut them is into strips and simple shapes, as this allows a lot of layering to be done!

Step 5: Start Sticking!

Begin to glue your cuts of paper on to the surface!

Seriously, go all out!

Layer, overlay, weave, create!

Once you are satisfied, move on to the next step.

Step 6: Glue on Your Quote!

Remember the quote you positioned on in the beginning?

Well, now's the time to get it out again!

Stick it on the top, and you are almost done!

Step 7: Add Color!

Hopefully you haven't put your paint away yet!

Take a brush and dip it lightly into the paint (I often end up wiping the brush onto a spare piece of paper to remove any excess paint).

Dab it lightly in small areas of your artwork. (I also dabbed some red glitter-glue on mine)

This step brings your artwork to life, and is in my opinion the most important step!

This is also the step in which you add any charms to your artwork. (I later strung some feathers on mine)

Step 8: Display!

Here are some of the others I've made!

I love them, and they are so easy to display!

A nail would do!

*Tip* If you want to make them last even longer, you can use Mod Podge as a sealant.
