Watch The Video!!

There’s an art to making a car shine. Sometimes the oxidation on the paint so bad, You’ll feel like it’ll never Shine again. With a little bit of skill in the right equipment it’ll shine. 1200 grit sandpaper is a good place to start when the oxidation is really bad. Then rubbing compound, and then finally polishing compound to really make it come alive. Hope you enjoy the video.

Step 1: Sanding

Start by using 1200 grit sandpaper to get the really rough oxidation off of the paint

Step 2: Hard Buff With Rubbing Compound

On a wool buffing wheel we put rubbing compound on the surface because our paint was very oxidized. If your paint is not this oxidized (Which is is probably not) then skip this step.

Step 3: Buffing/Polishing

We are using A D.A. (Dual Action) polisher from harbor freight for about $60 and it sure does work great! Put polishing rouge on the foam pad and start polishing the paint!

Step 4: Admire You Work!!

Now you can really see the difference between the old paint vs the new paint. It looks so much better!! Now wax the paint to protect it

What is the brand of the polishing rogue? Thank you

    Tip 2 years ago

You should leave it like that. Rename the truck "Creamer" a.k.a. "Half & Half". Half shiny, half dull.
