Introduction: Rockin' Tic-Tac-Toe

A quick double knit Tic Tac Toe board. Collect and paint your favourite rocks and have fun with it!!

Step 1:

Not only is the board a fun contrasting colour on either side, the fabric produced is thick and lays perfectly flat.

Step 2:

Use any DK weight of yarn. The key is to use identical weight yarn in a high contrast colour combination for best effects.

Step 3:

See the attached PDF for chart instructions of the pattern. Double knitting is essentially knitting two layers of knitting at once, so that there is no "wrong side" on your work. Each side is the "right side" with the colours forming a mirror image on each side. To achieve this you will cast on with both colours held together, treating them as one strand . You will then knit the first stitch with both yarns held in back, but only making a knit stitch with your main colour. Then bring both yarns to the front and purl the next stitch with only the contrast colour. When you turn your work, your main colour and contrast colour will be the opposite. I like to bind off using both colours together as one.
