Radius Sanding Block for Guitar, Easy&cheap

Volevo realizzare la mia prima cigar-box guitar con la tastiera bombata. Non avevo il RSB e acquistarlo era costoso e avrei dovuto aspettare qualche giorno. Così ho deciso di costruirmene uno con i materiali che avevo a disposizione e ... funziona.

YouTube mi ha aiutato molto ma i progetti che ho visto necessitavano di legno diverso e di attrezzi che non avevo.

Ho cercato all'interno di Instructables RSB ma non ho trovato niente.

Quindi eccovi il progetto.

I wanted to make my first cigar-box guitar with curved keyboard. I had not the RSB and purchase it was expensive and I would have to wait a few days to have it. So I decided to build one with the materials available to me ... and it works.

YouTube has helped me a lot but the projects I've seen nedeed different wood and tools that I had not.
I searched within Instructables RSB but found nothing.

So here's the plan.

Step 1: Materials and Tools

Legno compensato da 4 mm

Seghetto da legno, cutter, carta vetro, cartoncino rigido, colla da legno, biadesivo

Plywood 4 mm thickness

Saw, cutter, sandpaper, rigid cardboard, wood glue, double-sided tape

Step 2: Choose the Radius

Prima bisogna scegliere il raggio di curvatura.

Chitarra classica - 0 cm

Fender Stratocaster Vintage - 7,25" - 18,4 cm ~

Fender Statocaster Modern - 9,5" - 24 cm ~

Gibson - 10-12" - 25-30 cm ~

La massima larghezza di una tastiera è di circa 6 cm.

First, you choose the radius of curvature.

Fender Stratocaster Vintage - 7,25" - 18,4 cm ~

Gibson - 10-12" - 25-30 cm ~

The maximum width of a keyboard at the end is about 6 cm

Step 3: Cardboard Template

Guarda i disegni.

Watch the pictures.

Step 4: Cut Plywood

Tagliare come nei disegni.

Cut as in the drawings

Step 5: Glue the Pieces

Incollare prima i lati, dopo i Radius e dopo il top. (Il top l'ho ammorbidito in acqua bollente per 20 minuti).

Glue before the sides. Glue the Radius pieces.

Glue the top. (I softened the wood into boiling water for 20 min before glue it)

Step 6: Attacks the Double-sided Adhesive and Sandpaper

Attacca il biadesivo sul top e poi la cartavetro. Finito. Buone chitarre.

Attacks the double-sided adhesive on the top and then the sandpaper. Finished. Good guitars.
