Introduction: Rainbow Crochet Bikini

About: I love to make things, especially those which are cute

Hi everyone,

Although summer has passed but why don't we just prepare for our next summer?

This tutorial to show you how to crochet a beautiful rainbow shell bikini so that you can be more attractive on the beach.

This is for intermediate to advance level. In this tutorial, I use soft elastic yarn (double the yarn) with crochet hook size 3.5mm. The bras size in this video is 34B (US size). If you want it bigger, just increase the row of the cup.

These are the supplies you need to make a rainbow crochet bikini:

1. Yarn (seven colors of the rainbow. Here I use soft elastic yarn)

2. A crochet hook, size appropriate with your yarn (here I use 3.5mm)

3. Scissors

4. Tapestry needle

5. Sewing pins and thread

6. A pair of foam bras

Abbreviations used in this tutorial:
- Ch (Chain)

- Sc (Single crochet)

- Dc (Double crochet)

- FPdc (Front post dc)

- BPdc (Back Post dc)

- 2-dc shell / 3-dc shell / 6-dc shell

There's clear instructions in this video, so I didn't write down the pattern.

Step 4: The Back Part

This step show you how to crochet the back strap of the bikini. I didn't write down the pattern as well but the key is working in the back loops.

Step 5: Attach the Foam Bra and Finish

This step show you how to sew the foam bra into the cups and finish the bikini.

Hope you'll find my instructions easy to follow. If you have any question, please feel free to comment or inbox me. Happy crocheting!

Wouldn't it get soggy and stretch out when you wore it into the water?!

Oh, it depends on the kind of yarn or thread you use to crochet. Cotton can work really well in making swimsuit.

Making your own is a great idea. My wife can never find one at a store that fits properly. So she always has to make or modify her swimsuits.
