Step 2: Joining the Squares

For the first square you will complete a row of black yarn by repeating round 3, join then cut and tie your yarn. Attach the black yarn to your next square and complete round 3 for 3 sides of the square for the last side you will join it to the first square you made. In the corner you will only pl 3 dc then you will line the squares up and sl st into the corner of the first square, you will then place another 3 dc into the corner, sl st into the next ch 1 space of the first square then place 3 dc into the ch 1 space of the square you are currently working on, you will repeat this until you are done, sl st to join then cut and tie of the yarn.

Once all the squares are joined you will attach your yarn anywhere and complete a row of single crochet. Once you get to one of the side you will do four rows of single crochet, to do this you will crochet down the side then ch 1 turn your work and crochet back. repeat this another 3 times, then continue on to the other side. Once you reach the other side you will down 3 rows of single crochet and then ch 4, sc 4, ch 4 sc 4 until you get the bottom this will create your button holes.
