For this bracelet you will need- 38 black rubber bands, 9 red rubber bands, 9 orange rubber bands, 9 yellow rubber bands, 9 green rubber bands, 5 blue rubber bands, and 5 purple rubber bands.
Step 1: Placing Perimeter
Start from the 1st middle peg and place a black rubber band to the 2nd left peg. Continue up the left side of the loom placing black rubber bands in a chain formation. Stop at the second to last peg. Then place a black band from the second to last peg on the left to the last peg in the middle. Go back down to the first set of pegs and place a black rubber band from the 1st middle peg up to the 2nd peg on the right. Continue up the right side of the loom placing black rubber bands in a chain formation. Finish the perimeter with a black rubber band going from the second to last peg on the right up to the last peg in the middle.
Step 2: Placing the Triangles
Start by placing a black rubber band from the first middle peg up to the second. Next take a red rubber band and place it from the second peg on the left over to the second peg in the middle. Place another red rubber band from the second peg on the right over to the second peg in the middle. Take a red rubber band and place it from the second peg on the left over to the third peg in the middle. Using another red rubber band, place it from the second peg on the right over to the third peg in the middle. Finnish off this triangle by placing a black rubber band from the second middle peg up to the third. Do the same for the other colours of the rainbow in this order: orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, red, orange, yellow, green. At the end of the loom place a black rubber band from the second to last peg in the middle up to the last peg in the middle.
Step 3: Placing a Capping Band
Using a black rubber band, twist it between two fingers until it takes on an "eight" shape. Then bring one side of it over on to the other finger so that it is wrapped around your finger twice. This will be your capping band. Place it on the last peg in the middle to keep the other bands in place.
Step 4: Hooking
To hook your bracelet, you need to first turn your loom around so that the arrow is pointing towards you. To start, go underneath the cap band on the first peg and grab the top black band and loop it up to the second middle peg. Next, go underneath the capping band and grab the new top band and loop it to the second peg on the left. Go underneath the capping band and grab the last black rubber band and loop it to the second peg on the right.
Next to loop the triangles, grab the black perimeter band on the left( between the second and third peg on the left) and loop it up to the third peg on the left. Go over and grab the right perimeter band( between the second and third peg on the right) and loop it to the third peg on the right. Then get the middle black band (between the second and third peg in the middle) and loop it forward. Next, get the green band between the second peg in the middle and the third peg on the left, and hook it to the third peg on the left. Then take the green band between the second peg in the middle and the third peg on the right and hook it to the third peg on the right. Next, take the green band between the third peg on the left and the third peg in the middle and loop it on to the third peg in the middle. Take the green rubber band between the third peg in the middle and the third peg on the right and hook it on to the third peg in the middle. Repeat this for the other 9 triangles.
When you are done hooking the triangles, take the black rubber band between the second to last peg on the right and the last peg in the middle and loop it to the last peg in the middle. Take the black rubber band between the second to last peg on the left and the last peg in the middle and loop it to the last peg in the middle. Lastly, take the black rubber band between the second to last peg in the middle and the last and loop it up to the last peg in the middle.
Step 5: Removing Your Bracelet From the Loom
To remove your bracelet from the loom, you need to slide your hook underneath all of the bands in the last middle peg and stick your hook out the side. Take a black rubber band and hook it on the end of the hooking tool. Holding the other end of the elastic, pull your hook through so the elastic is around all the bands in the ending peg. Put the end you are holding on to the hook so that both ends of the elastic are on the hook and are firmly around the end of the bracelet. Keeping your hook on the elastic band, carefully pull the bracelet off of the loom, being careful that the elastic does not come off the hook.
Step 6: Making the Extension
Once you take your bracelet off the loom you will notice that it is too small to fit your wrist so we need to make a chain extension. First take a red band and place it from the first right peg up the second. Then take an orange band and place it from the second right pin to the third. Then with a yellow, from the third right peg up to the fourth. Next with a green from the fourth right peg to the fifth. A blue from the fifth right peg up to the sixth. And finally a purple band from the sixth right peg up to the seventh. Then take your bracelet and place the end that was on the hook from the seventh peg over to the eight peg on the right. Turn your loom around and hook the purple band forward to the sixth peg. Then take the blue up to the fifth peg, the green to the fourth, the yellow to the third, the orange to the second, and the red to the the first.
Step 7: Placing the C-clip
To place the C-clip, stretch the red rubber band to the first middle peg and get your C-clip. Put it on this stretched part and pull the extension and the bracelet off of the loom. Find the black capping band from the end of the bracelet and hook it on to the C-clip to complete your bracelet.
