Step 1: Tools and Materials
The items needed to make a rainbow sun catcher are:
Jewelry style wire, one a little thicker to form the outside hoop, one a little thinner, which the beads can be strung upon...in assorted colors if you like.
Assorted Beads
A crystal globe with a hole in it to string it up
String
Basic jewelry pliers; pinch, cut, etc.

Step 2: Getting Started
Use a round object to form a hoop in a piece of the thicker of two kinds of wire.
(I used one of the small tins I use to keep beads in.)
Twist the end to form a small loop that will be the tie point for hanging it.
Next, cut eight pieces of wire, each with a length about 3 times the diameter of the hoop.
These will become the trunk and branches of the tree.

Step 3: Forming the Tree
Attach each of the thin pieces of wire to the bottom of the hoop, opposite the small loop, by wrapping the thin wire around the thick wire, as shown in the picture.
These form the roots of the tree.
Then they are twisted together into a central trunk, and then separate again to form the branches of the tree.

Step 4: Making Jeweled Branches
After the strands of wire are separated into branches, beads are then strung on them before reconnecting the wires to the top of the hoop.
Step 5: Add the Rainbow Maker & Finished!
Using a piece of string, tie the crystal to the bottom of the hoop.
Attach a piece of string to the loop and it's ready to hang!
