Raspberry Pi HTPC Case

Introduction: Raspberry Pi HTPC Case

About: I control electrons to do my evil bidding.

A CD/DVD ROM drive htpc case for the raspberry pi. The front of the drive has an ir sensor for remote control. It also has a fan on top to keep it nice and cool. I may eventually come out with a full instructable for this.

It looks so compact and clean. I find this very original for a RPi case, did you put a USB hub or anything extra?

Thank you was going for originality. Best thing about this case is you can put the drive into a computer case, super sneaky. As for any extras I don't have a usb hub just a wifi adapter and ir sensor hooked up to the GPIO pins. The usb port on the back is just an extension of the one on the pi. I just modified the eject button as a reset switch, works nicely to come back after shutdown.

Putting the "drive" to a computer case is a good idea! But sadly, not all sockets are at the same side. Because if all peripherals sockets are at one side and power at another side (the opposite is the best), you can easily plug anything you want in the front panel, like a USB wifi adapter, a wireless keyboard, a HDMI TV, etc.

This is really nice, I'd love to see a full instructable for it.

I plan to have an instructable eventually and hopefully soon. Sorry, I just don't have the time quite yet :-/
