Well, then this is the perfect project for you! In this simple 3-step instructable, we will turn an ordinary can into a beautiful planter.

Supplies

The supplies for this planter are very minimal;

Any size can
10-30 clothespins

Supplies to plant something in the planter (optional);

Dirt
Seed(s)
Water

Step 1: Prepare the Can

For the first step, clean your used can; it can be any size you want. The bigger the can, the more room you have for a large plant, but you will also need more clothespins. Make sure the top of your can is fully cut off; we won't need it. Most cans will have left-over residue from whatever was in them, so use a paper towel to clean that out.

Step 2: Clothespins

The next part involves putting clothespins all around the edge of the can to make it look great and keep dirt in. The clothespins can be old, new, different colors; whatever you have works; the point of this project is to reuse. The number of clothespins you need depends on the size of your can. For every inch your can is wide (diameter), you will need about 7 clothespins.

EX

3-inch wide can - 21 clothespins

2.5-inch wide can - 17-18 clothespins

3.5-inch wide can - 24-25 clothespins

Pinch the clothespins open and push them onto the can as far down as they will go.

Repeat this step of putting clothespins on until the entire can rim is full.

Just make sure all the clothespins are pushed down and in uniform.

It's that easy; you're done!
