Red Faction Clock

I want to get into building my own robots and thought it would be good to start off with a basic project that would help me develop some practical skills.

I have loved the Red Faction series and I thought the logo would make a cool clock.

All you need to recreate this Red Faction clock is listed below.

• Quartz Clock Movement Mechanism (can get one cheap from Amazon)
• 3mm thick wood
• Router
• Red Faction logo stencil (http://orig13.deviantart.net/9193/f/2011/194/7/c/red_faction_by_derickmanning-d3ohsdv.jpg)
  
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Drill
• Orange paint
• Black paint

Step 1: Step 1: Trace Out Outline

First cut out the profile of the logo and then trace the outline onto the wood.

Step 2: Step 2: Cut Out the Shape

Cut out the profile. I used a router for this.

Step 3: Step 3: Paint

Apply the base paint to the profile you have cut out.

This may require multiple coatings to leave an even finish.

Step 4: Step 4: Drill Hole for Clock Mechanism

Once the paint has dried, drill a hole for your quartz clock movement mechanism.

Step 5: Step 5: Details

Apply black paint to create the fingers and hands.

Step 6: Step 6: Add Clock Mechanism

After the paint has dried attach the clock mechanism and you are done!
