Introduction: Red Velvet Cake Frappuccino Recipe
Copycat Starbucks Red Velvet Cake Frappuccino recipe combines the delicious flavors of raspberry and chocolate into a delightful and beautiful drink. This started as a Starbucks Secret Menu recipe and was later introduced in stores as a fan flavor. The secret menu recipe and Starbucks ones are different so I tried out a bit of both and came up with the recipe I liked. Feel free to change it up to make it the way you want it.
Starbucks Ingredients: chocolate chips, mocha sauce, raspberry syrup, and vanilla syrup
Secret Menu Ingredients: half white mocha/half regular mocha, and raspberry syrup

Step 1: Ingredients
This recipe is a single serving and makes about the equivalent of a 16oz Grande from Starbucks.
Ingredients*:
- 2c ice
- 1/4c strong coffee (optional) - or replace with more Half & Half. I've made it both with and without coffee and I think I prefer without coffee personally
- 1/2c milk - use whatever type you would like; I use Half & Half
- 2tbsp Torani Raspberry Syrup (I put an equal amount of each syrup, but feel free to mix it up to get the flavor you want)
- 2tbsp Torani Vanilla Syrup
- 2tbsp Torani White Chocolate Syrup
- Simple Syrup to taste
- Pinch of Xantham Gum (optional)
- Few drops of red food coloring, if you really want the red velvet experience (if you don't need coffee you probably won't even need food coloring to get it pink)
Flavoring/Add-in Options - I know not everyone has as many Torani syrups as I do, so I'm trying to make this as easy I can for everyone, though I still stand by they can be a good investment if you're going to use them (for most of my frappuccinos, I use about 6tbsp of Torani syrups/sauces/simple syrups total, so you can make a combination of things below to get the flavor you want):
- Chocolate Sauce
- White Chocolate Sauce
- Torani's Chocolate Milano Syrup
- Torani Raspberry Syrup
- Torani Vanilla Syrup
- Torani White Chocolate Syrup
- Simple Syrup
- Chocolate Chips
- Raspberry Extract + simple syrup (if you use extracts you're probably going to need sugar to sweaten it, but I have yet to try extracts in my frappes, though I don't see why they wouldn't work)
Topping Suggestions:
- Whipped topping
- Chocolate sauce
- Raspberry syrup
- Red velvet cake crumbs
- Mini chocolate chips
Utensils:
- Blender - I use a Magic Bullet at home, it's great for making individual drinks though doesn't blend quite as well as the Vitamix
- Ice cube trays - small ice cubes make for even easier blending
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Cups for serving
- Straws - I'm a fan of reusable ones
*The amounts are just a suggestion. Change it up to suit your tastes; for example, I don't use a lot of coffee, but when I make one for my husband I usually put in more coffee and then decrease the amount of milk.
Step 2: Mix
Time to blend it up. You know the drill. After I mixed it, I decided to add some food coloring for more of the red velvet look. This is completely optional and if you don't add coffee, it will probably already look fairly red. The coffee cancels out the red in the raspberry.
Step 3: Decorate and Serve
Time to top it and serve it.
Depending on your recipe, there is a lot you can do to decorate it. I decided to top mine with chocolate sauce and bits of red velvet cake. I know topping your drinks with cake isn't practical, but it looks good.
Also, if you now have extra cake, why not throw that in the blender and mix it in the drink. Cake in a drink is pretty tasty.
