Introduction: Repair Jewelry With Glitter!

I don't know about you, but on more than one occasion, I have found myself with a favorite piece of jewelry or two that has lost a stone. The real issue is I can't bring myself to toss it because I love it so much, but it is inexpensive enough that it isn't worth taking it to a pro to repair. So, I finally came up with a solution that works great!

Supplies

The supplies are simple and most you likely already have on hand, especially if you are a crafty sort of person. They include: jewelry that is missing a stone(s), super glue with a small/fine tip, glitter, and tape

Step 1: Secure the Jewelry

Use the tape to secure the jewelry with the part missing the stone facing up.

Step 2: Fill in With Glue

Holding the glue, carefully squeeze just enough glue to fill the cavity. If you do not have a fine enough tip, working quickly, you may use a toothpick by squeezing a small amount of glue onto a paper towel and collecting some on the end of the toothpick and dabbing it into place on the jewelry. If any excess gets on the jewelry, quickly and carefully wipe off before the glue dries.

Step 3:

Working quickly while glue is still wet, shake glitter onto the filled cavity, making sure the entire hole is covered.

Note: If it is a big hole, you may do this in layers by repeating the glue and glitter steps as necessary, till the hole is completely filled and you are satisfied.

Step 4: Drying Time

Allow ample time for the glue to dry and the glitter to set. Once glue and glitter are set, brush off any excess glitter that my be sitting on the ring. If you find any is attached where it shouldn't be, you may use a cotton swab dipped in acetone to clean the excess, but do so carefully.

Step 5: Jump for Joy!

YAY! You just saved your favorite piece of jewelry, and money, all by yourself by fixing it for pennies using just a little GLITTER and glue, and no one will be the wiser, unless you tell them ;)
