Introduction: Replace 6 D Cell Batteries With 1 9 Volt Battery in a Pinch for Emergencies
Hi, my name is Simon and I'm always trying to fix problems around the house! For example in this instructables I wanted a way to use one nine volt battery to power a stereo that previously required 6 d cell batteries!
Step 1: Aquire Your Needed to Be Powered
In my case I wanted to power my stereo.
Step 2: Open Up the Battery Compartment
On the top of the battery pack, hook up the black lead of the 9v battery clip to the spring that is also known as the negative lead. Then hook up the red lead of the 9v battery lead to the flat side of the lower part of the battery pack also known as the positive lead.
Step 3: Add Your 9v Battery
One of the final steps is to add the 9v battery and to close it all up!
Step 4: The Final Step of Testing It Out
My final step was to test the stereo out and boy was that rewarding. The speakers had high bass and volume even though they were only powered by a 9v battery.
Enjoy and don't forget to vote for me since I'm in the battery powered contest! Have fun and instructables on!!!

There is a very good reason for useing the D calls. they have a much larger electrical capacity than the 9 V pp3 battery.
That means they will last MUCH MUCH longer.

Yet if you only have 1-9v pp3 battery and no D cells, then in an emergency, what would you do? Would you use your radio or stat the fact that your battery won't last as long?
