Introduction: Roasted Soybean Butter for Deer
All hunters know deer love peanut butter, but peanut butter can get expensive if you are buying large quantities. We started making our own homemade peanut butter simply by blending peanuts with some peanut oil, but found it was also difficult to get large quantities of roasted peanuts at a good price.
However, the feed stores are now offering 50lb bags of roasted soybeans, so we decided to make some " roasted soybean butter" for the deer and it turned out very nicely!
Ingredients:
1. Two cups roasted soybeans
2. 2/3 cups of peanut/vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Place roasted soybeans in blender and blend to a coffee grind consistency.
2. Pour in peanut oil and blend on medium until completely mixed together.
3. You may continue to add more peanut oil until you have the desired consistency.
There are several ways you can apply it in the woods, but of course you can always just spread it on a log or stump!

FYI it's illegal to bait or feed wildlife in some states.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, please do always check your local, state, and federal laws before feeding wildlife.

I would think this would work for bear also...

Thanks, that is a great idea! We don't have many bears where I live, so I personally don't have experience there, but sure makes sense to me!
