Introduction: Rose Earrings
Recently, I started an etsy shop where I (intend to) sell polymer clay earrings, necklaces, and charms. One of my favorite jewelry pieces to make is polymer clay rose earrings. They are simple to make, fast, and adorable. I can have about 5 pairs of these completely finished within 30 minutes. This instructables will teach you how to make these super cute earrings in just a few easy to follow steps.
Step 1: Materials
To make these earrings, you will need Industrial strength glue (I use E-6000), any color of polymer clay, and an earring making kit. If you would like, you can use polymer clay glaze when you are finished for a nice glossy finish.
Step 2: Prepping
Each earring needs 6 petals and a base so start by rolling 14 small balls of clay. The balls should only be a few millimeters high but you can make them bigger if you would like to have large roses. Take 2 of the balls and work them to look like a hershey kiss. These will be the bases of your earrings.
Step 3: Making and Attaching the Petals
To make the petals, simply flatten out all of the balls except for the ones that are shaped like hershey kisses (picture 3). Take one of the "petals" and attach it to the base by lightly pressing it on and curving it around the base (picture 4). Continue this step for the next five petals (picture 1, 2, 5, and 6) and then start the process again with the next earring. The last step is to flatten out the bottom of the earring so it can be glued onto the earring post easily.
Step 4: Assembling the Earrings
To finish the earrings, bake them at 275 degrees for 10 minutes. At this point, you can apply a layer of polymer clay glaze if you would like. Then, take an earring post and add a small about of glue to the back of the rose and hold the post and rose together for about a minute. Finished!

Your welcome! I have always loved these type of earrings too and to make them costs about $1 and to buy them costs about $15 so if you like them I definitely recommend you make these!

These are so cute and simple! I think you should enter them in the "I Could Make That" contest. :) I have seen earrings like these for up to $20 at the mall. Good luck with your Etsy site!

Thanks so much! I haven't used instructables in a while so I wasn't aware of the new contests but I will definitely enter it.
