Introduction: Rotating Electric Skateboard for Meditation, Dance, Iceskating and Vestibular Training

Description

The standard skateboard move in translation, this one move in rotation.

A motorized spinning platform on which ou can sit or stand to learn whirling.

Be safe: Whirling makes dizzy and vomits people that are not trained but with training it is possible to whirl a long time at fast speed without problem.

With this device it is possible to spin on yourself at speeds from 6 rpm to 210 rpm depending how skilled your are.

Whirling is used for centuries as meditation and ritual by the Whirling Dervishes and also in the "5 Tibetans Rites".

Whirling is also use for training the astronauts.

This device is not intended for forced whirling that was used as torture or psychiatric medicine in the middle ages.

Light and slow whirling seems to be used for autism help and for rehabilitation (see the doctor before)

In some sports fast whirling is done as : dance, ice skating, hammer throw, discus throw, circus .

Step 1: Safety

Tools Safety

Be safe, and think that tolls may be dangerous

To cut or drill small pieces don't hold them by hand but use, but use C clamps or bench vice.

And other good method is to prepare small pieces in a larger one and then cut it at the end.

Protect yourself from dust ,noise, and chemicals ( glue , paint ) and your hands with gloves and your eyes with safety glasses.

Don't put your hand near the cutting tools.

Read instructions of your tools.

Spinner Safety

Health

Whirling makes dizzy and vomits people that are not trained but with training it is possible to whirl a long time at fast speed without any problem.

Don't do it if you have health problems.

Don't use drugs before use.

Motion sickness medication has side effects and is not recommended.

Don't do it too much, it may create sleeplessness, hallucinations, motion sickness.

Don't not do it before riding, driving, flying or other dangerous activities ..

I don't know the long term effect of whirling.

For more information of sickness:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_sickness

See the doctor if you have any problems.

Avoid injuries

Use protection ( gym mats or Crash mats) at the 1st time or if you want to spin fast.

Keep dangerous things away.

Don't spin too fast and use the low speed to start.

Fingers

Don't put your fingers near the rotating parts.

Battery and electric safety

Read the instructions of your skateboard.

Lithium batteries may start a fire. Use only the provided charger.

I decline any responsibility in case of accident or disease.

Step 2: Check and Disassemble You Skateboard

Check Your Skate

As you will have to disassemble it you will lost the warranty. So check it before.

Breakdowns are often at the 1st use.

Disassemble

Remove the non-slip adhesive. If it is to difficult you can heat it with a heat gun

Unscrew the truck and the electronic box.

Step 3: Electronic : Remote Control, Battery

The remote control, the motor, the electronic motor drive, the battery, the battery charger are provided with the original skate board.

The wire between the electronic box and the motor is long enough.

So you have nothing to do.

Step 4: The Base Disk

Optional

it is possible to use it without the base but there is some problems:

1) it is less stable and more dangerous.

2) If the floor is a carpet you will need more power and the battery will not last long.

3) The wheels can damage the floor.

Cut drill the base disk

The base disk is a plywood 60 cm dia, 8 mm thickness that you cut with a jigsaw.

Drill a 32 mm dia in the center with a conic drill.

Paste the feet on it ( 2.5 * 4cm ; 8 mm thickness plywood ).

Secure the Pillow block ball bearing

That seems that the INA CJT 04 exit in several versions: cylindrical or spherical.

Use the cylindrical version.

Cut a plywood 12 cm * 12 cm ; 18mm thickness with a 32 mm hole in the center.

Secure it in the center of the base, the 32 mm hole will give you access to the nut.

Step 5: The 3 Wheels Supports

You need 3 wheels supports

The wheels are rollerblade inline skate with ball bearings. Don't use wheels without ball bearings.

Don't use large wheels because the speed in not the same in and out of the disk.

An other solution is to use casters but they have no ball bearings and will not last long.

As I have no machine tools, I glue small pieces of plywood.

Step 6: The Top Disk

Cut drill the base disk:

The base disk is a plywood 60 cm dia, 12 mm thickness that you cut with a jigsaw.

Drill a 32 mm dia in the center with a conic drill.

Step 7: The Truck

Change the wheel truck:

As the the speed in not the same in and out the disk I tilt the truck an put a smaller wheel in the inside.

Secure the truck:

The best is to have conic wheels but it is difficult to make them so the truck is tilted so when the wheels will be wear they will have a conic shape.

Step 8: The Top Disk Assembly

Secure with screws all the parts that you will have to disassemble for repair.

Be sure that the axle of the wheel will be exactly in radial direction.

Step 9: Put the Top Disk on the Base

Just put the top disk on the base and put the nut on the axle.

Check the device before painting. ( see safety instructions below )

You will have to disassemble it for painting.

Step 10: Painting

You will have to disassemble it for painting.

Use sand paper to clean it before painting.

The paint must be 1 st floor quality if you want that it last long.

As the wheels roll on the paint may by sure that the paint is very dry before use.
