Introduction: SIMPLEST LINE FOLLOWER

OK GUYS . SO ALL THE GEEKS HERE VISITING THIS WEBSITE FOR IDEAS ON ROBOTS MUST HAVE STUMBLED UPON THIS PARTICULAR TYPE OF ROBOT . A VERY COMMON ONE ACTUALLY . I.E THE LINE FOLLOWING BOT . BUT MANY OF U WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT HAS DIFFICULT , ESPECIALLY FOR THE BEGINNERS WHO DON'T EVEN KNOW KNOW ANY PROGRAMMING YET

SO IN THIS INSTRUCTABLE I WILL TEACH U TO MAKE A VERY SIMPLE LINE FOLLOWER BOT . AND CHEAP TOO.
!!!!

SO . First you need to arrange for these items .!!!

MALE-TO-MALE wires( A PACK OF 40 )

Double sided tape

A ply board

Bread Board

Black tape

Castor Wheels

Black Tape

BO motors

BO motor wheels

ULN2003AGP ( ITS A 16 PIN MICRO CONTROLLER )

Battery

AND A BRAIN!!!

Step 1: LETS GET STARTED

Attach wheels to motors

Attach micro controller to bread board


Attach motors and castor wheels to the ply


Attach bread board and battery to ply (NO PIC SORRY GUYS . HOPE U CAN MANAGE . U GOT A BRAIN !!!)


WOAH !! U R ALMOST DONE . JUST THE WIRING IS LEFT

Step 2:

NOW ATTACH THE WIRES AS FOLLOW

( for first timers , see the schematic diagram fro reference of pins )

JOIN THE NEGATIVE PART OF THE SENSORS AND BATTERY TO THE 8TH PIN


JOIN THE POSITIVE PART OF SENSORS AND MOTORS AND BATTERY TO THE 9TH PIN

JOIN THE NEGATIVE PART OF THE LEFT MOTOR TO THE 16TH PIN

AND THAT OF THE RIGHT MOTOR TO 15TH PIN


JOIN THE OUTPUT OF THE LEFT SENSOR TO 1ST PIN AND THAT OF RIGHT SENSOR TO 2ND PIN .

WOW GUYS !! U JUST MADE UR FIRST BOT .

Step 3:

NOW FOR THE TESTING

on a white surface make a curved path with the black tape

switch on your robot and calibrate it

do remember to keep the distance between the sensors and the width of the black line to be the same

NOW GO AND HAVE FUN!!!
