Introduction: SMALL PART STORAGE -- MY WAY!

About: In my shop I have a name for hammer, saw, and plier. The saw is Tess, the hammer's Joe, and Glumdalclitch is the plier. Yes, I'm brillig, and my slithy toves still gyre and gimble in the wabe. With that, le…

Step 1: MY BENCH IS GROSS

My bench is gross, I fear.

It can't hide behind a curtain.

This mess I have to clear.

I know I can, of this I'm certain.

This bench is really full

Of things from every byway.

And more, more stuff to clear.

I'll do it my way.

Step 2: SMALL PARTS

Small parts, I've quite a few,

All labeled, so those I won't mention.

I'll do what I have to do.

I'll get it done without exemption.

Step 3: A SIMPLE SHELF

I planned a simple shelf

Made from scraps left by the highway.

No more, no more than this.

I'll build it my way.

Step 4: SNIPPED OFF SKEWERS

Yes, there were times

I'm sure I knew,

Snipped off skewers of strong bamboo,

Will surely hold, I have no doubt.

They grabbed the wood, now I could shout

I glued it all,

The shelf stood tall.

I built it my way.

Step 5: SECURED IT TO THE STUDS

I secured it to the studs

Then filled in all the small parts

Now sitting side by side

Lined up like works of art.

To think I did all that,

And may I say, not in a shy way,

I built it my way.

And now, the end is here,

And so I face a shelf that's working.

My friend, I'll say it clear

I built this shelf without shirking.

And I know this shelf was made

All with scraps tossed by the highway

And more, much more than this, I built it my way.
