Intro: SS Fog Pirate Cannon

This is a pirate fog cannon (with light) that I made to help advertise VBS.

The kids really loved playing with it. You would press the trigger and it would shoot fog and the light would flash. Unfortunately I ran out of time to add speakers.

Making it was surprisingly easy:
- roughed out the form in cardboard (I love cardboard)
- got some plastic tubing from home depot and made the cannon. 
- added a trailer light for the red light
- the wagon is just a wooden box
- used a jig saw to cut out wheels
- created graphic and burnt some holes in it to represent bullet holes.
- accessorized :)

I am doing this twice for my yard haunt this year. Best part is i only need the tubing. Im mounting them on a small ship!

What did you use for lighting?

A round red trailer light which I connected to a 12v battery.
I didn't get around to connecting the trigger switch for the fog machine with the red light ... that and sound would have been a nice upgrade.

It did get heavily borrowed and used in a play and even set off the fire alarms with a fire truck arriving!

A fun looking project but lacks some detail. What do you use to create the fog? What did you cut the wheels out of? Some dimensions might be nice. While I understand the dimensions can vary, a starting point would help. You mentioned the lack of speakers, were you going to create sound effects for the cannon firing?
