Introduction: SUGRU Repair Upcycled Tin Sheets
We built one of the sheds on our allotment from upcycled tin sheets. Unfortunately there were holes in some of the sheets - not ideal for building material. But using salvaged materials where possible is important to us and except for the holes, this was a great free building material. We opted for SUGRU to make our repairs, knowing that it would be waterproof, weatherproof and UV resistant once cured, making for a long-lasting repair.
Step 1: Sealing It Up...
The area around each hole was cleaned before SUGRU was worked into each hole. Once it had cured it provided a seal that is waterproof and resistant to UV, heat and cold, hopefully ensuring a non-leaking roof for many years to come!

Very nice. When you push the sugru into the hole you make it "mushroom" on both sides of the hole? That way it becomes both an adhesive patch and a mechanical patch.

That's exactly how I did it. I made my son go on the roof and round off the sugru as it was pushed through. Its lasted the summer perfectly and am looking forward to seeing what happens with the snow and ice.

Snow and ice is no problem, still flexible in freezing weather. Its a great product. The hot sun of summer had no effect. Will update next year.
