Secret PLUMBING Tricks!

Here are some pretty cool plumbing tricks you won't find elsewhere ;)

Step 1: BROKEN CENTER BIT

You were using a hole saw and your center bit snapped…what a shame, but guess what I got ya. Go scavenging around for 3 nails, once you got them, form a triangle around the hole your gonna drill, they’ll serve as guides and will ensure your hole saw stays in place the first few seconds of the operation. What was that, sure you’re welcome.

Step 2: BLOCKED DISK

I bet you anything this already happened to you and had to look for another solution, well, the solution is right in front of you. You can use your disk removal tool on any grinder as long as the pins on the tool fit inside the holes on the grinder’s retainer nut, all you gotta do is place one of them in and use the other as a lever, Macgyver would be so proud, let’s move on to the next trick.

Step 3: CAST IRON CUTS

If you’re a residential or commercial plumber you know very well the cast iron cutters don’t always leave a clean edge, so here’s what you do. Instead of using a grinder, grab your trusty adjustable wrench and snap off any protruding pieces that could cause a potential leak if not removed.

Step 4: KEEP IT COOL

If ever your soldering close to a plumbing accessory that’s prone be damaged if exposed to too much heat, here’s a clever solution, grab a wet rag and wrap it around the accessory to protect it, use this trick with caution.
